Dr. Damen Muller
Dr. Damen Muller is a valued member of the veterinary community, serving pets and their families in the Southeast Tampa region. Dr. Muller graduated from the University of Edinburgh Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies after receiving his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from the University of Florida. Since graduating, he has resided in the Tampa area, where he enjoys serving the community by addressing their beloved pets' health concerns and welfare.
Dr. Muller enjoys all aspects of a pet's health journey but takes special interest in soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, and emergency and critical care. These specialized areas allow him to make a significant impact on pets’ lives, addressing complex issues and improving their quality of life. He prides himself on providing high-quality veterinary care with a compassionate and honest touch.
Beyond being a skilled veterinarian, Dr. Muller is a passionate advocate for pet wellness and education. He strives to prevent and address both physical and mental ailments in animals, ensuring they lead happy, healthy lives. His commitment extends beyond the clinic walls, emphasizing the importance of overall well-being for pets. Dr. Muller actively engages with the Hillsborough County community, participating in educational events, workshops, and outreach programs. His goal is to empower pet owners with knowledge and resources to keep their companions healthy and happy.
Dr. Muller is the proud husband and father of three children, two canine kids, Oscar and Ollie, and two cats, Venice and Mini Mow.
In his off time, Dr. Muller enjoys time with family and dabbling in a variety of sports such as baseball, bowling, golfing and hiking with the dogs when he finds the time.

Mike Artaud
Practice Manager, CVT
Mike is a certified veterinary nurse and practice manager with extensive expertise in small animal surgery. A graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor's in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, Mike has over 12 years of experience working in renowned settings, including the University of Florida Small Animal Hospital and a private practice boarded surgery center.
As a devoted pet parent to two dogs, Yoshi and Rosie, and two cats, Kirby and Gussie, Mike is passionate about helping pets live happy, healthy lives. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his girlfriend, whether at the beach or fishing on a boat.


Dr. Barbara Avalos Cavero
Dr. Barbara Avalos Cavero was born in Puerto Rico and proudly comes from a Peruvian family. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Puerto Rico – Río Piedras Campus before going on to complete her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University - College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, she pursued a rigorous small animal rotating internship at BluePearl Pet Hospital, where she went on to dedicate herself exclusively to emergency medicine.
In addition to her ER work, Dr. Avalos Cavero has also provided relief services at general practices, which has given her a well-rounded perspective on both urgent and routine veterinary care. Her clinical interests include emergency medicine, toxicology, gastrointestinal diseases, and client education.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Avalos Cavero is passionate about clear communication and providing supportive, inclusive care to all pet families.
Outside the hospital, she enjoys exploring new restaurants, traveling abroad, and watching movies with her husband, Pavel. She shares her home with a fluffy Bichon Frise named Koko Puff and an orange tabby kitty named Oliver.


Kayce Marriner
Team Lead/ Inventory Manager
Kayce is a seasoned Veterinary Assistant with over 18 years of dedicated experience in patient care ranging from critical care and surgery to general practice. Kayce approaches every day with a commitment to compassionate care, effective communication, and continuous improvement. Her dual foundation in science and business empowers her to deliver high-quality medical support while fostering a welcoming, efficient, and client-focused environment. Kayce holds degrees in Biology and Business Administration, she combines scientific expertise with organizational acumen to support exceptional veterinary services and optimize clinic operations and exceptional patient care. In her free time Kayce enjoys spending time with her dog Finn, indulging in Historical documentaries, and diving into the culturally diverse restaurant scene in Tampa.
